Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Roll Mill Production Tech. is, but not limited to: Working closely with the mill to ensure QTB setups are ready for the next section, working with the mill and Melt Shop to refine chemistries based on QTB performance, ensuring all PM’s and rebuilds are performed on QTB, monitoring, maintaining, and training team on air oil system, ensure looper and bypass troughs are maintained and helping throughout the mill where needed.  This role will also be responsible for training pulpit operators in QTB HMI and in troubleshooting QTB related problems. Candidates must be willing to work flexible schedules for QTB changeovers and trials.  Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to safety     
• Ability to build and maintain inventory systems (labeling, tracking, and following up)
• Excellent problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical Degree
• Experienced at providing structured training to others
• Strong mechanical skills coupled with the ability to read drawings.
• Strong computer skills including a strong working knowledge of EBS, QMOS, IBA and CAD software.
