Melt Shop Shift Supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

The Melt Shop Shift Supervisor provides leadership, direction, and support to help the Melt Shop team meet the goals of the Department and the Division. Primary responsibility is developing the Nucor culture where Safety is a value that is continually demonstrated. Additional responsibilities include: leading day to day operations, cost initiatives, teammate development, scheduling, process improvement, and engaging in and leading divisional initiatives. The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.   

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Demonstrated commitment to safety coupled with the ability to create and cultivate a strong safety culture
•    18 months minimum melt shop experience

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Melt shop operations or maintenance experience
•    Sound EAF/Casting technical knowledge
•    Nucor Leadership experience (Current Lead Level or Greater)
•    Desire and ability to promote upward
