Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Data Systems is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor committed to taking care of our customers and leading the team into the future, being safety-minded and goal oriented, while being cost and quality driven. The Purchasing Supervisor will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices and establishing plans for continuous improvement within the department and division. This role will lead negotiations and maintain relationships with key Vendors and be responsible for executing and maintaining Contractor and Purchasing Agreements. The successful candidate will also contribute to Nucor enterprise wide purchasing efforts; maintaining, developing, documenting and continuously improving appropriate internal controls and systems procedures, and assisting in ERP development along with Monthly Financial Close. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 + years’ work experience in manufacturing and procurement.
  • Strong understanding of the procurement process.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Frequent Travel Required between Madison, IN and San Bernadino, CA. (Candidates must be able to commit to regular, long-distance travel as a key component of the role. Travel may include extended stays and should be expected on a routine basis).
