Purpose:

The primary role of the Territory Sales Manager is to lead the sales and marketing efforts for Harris Supply Solutions Inc in the Southern California market in support of taking care of our customers. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for the entire sales process from the initial quote all the way to the final invoice, the development of new business, and the day-to-day of running the overall business functions of the company. This job requires some local travel to visit customers and the operational parts of the business – no extensive travel necessary. The successful candidate will also spend time developing relationships with the Nucor Bar Mills in the region that supply the products we sell.

  • Communication Skills - Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to successfully present ideas, negotiate, lead meetings, and articulate presentations.
  • Leadership Presence and Courage - Strong leadership/interpersonal skills; developing relationships built on trust and respect. The Ability to support change and willingness to face adversity and conflict.
  • Business Acumen – General business knowledge and an understanding of how Nucor makes money.
  • Judgement/Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Teamwork - Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal. Able to deliver commercial updates to the Sales team regarding the specific territory/market.
  • Sales and Marketing – Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes the ability to gather data, necessary to make strategic decisions.
  • Customer Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.  This also includes ability to effectively anticipate and meet customer needs and the ability to adjust approach based on the situation.
  • Initiative/Innovative -- Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.

 

Preferences:

  • Rebar or related construction industry knowledge
  • Sales and business experience
