Basic Job Functions:

The Nucor Lexington Environmental Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division’s safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives.  The Environmental Technician is primarily responsible for supporting baghouse and water treatment plant operations/maintenance, and active participation, planning, & coordinating execution of the work activities of the environmental team.  Additional responsibilities will be to develop relationships across the other mill production and maintenance teams.  The Environmental Technician is expected to work a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, some night shifts and weekends. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven ability to work safely with a team.
• 1-2 years of experience working in an industrial environmental operations OR maintenance department.
• Basic level of knowledge in water treatment principles, chemical feed addition, and/or baghouse operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in Steel Mill environmental operation and maintenance
• 2-year degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field
