Accountant I

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Lexington is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant. The Accountant’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with all monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Implementing and maintaining financial controls and procedures
• Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Support finance functions including accounts payable, cash management, credit, inventory accounting, and asset management
• Assisting with forecasting, cost and expense reviews, and report preparation

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years’ experience in accounting roles

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA, MBA, and/or MACC
• Willingness to relocate for future opportunities throughout the Nucor entity
• Experience with data visualization/analytical tools such as Power BI
• Accounting experience in steel or other related manufacturing industries
• Oracle EBS experience
