Basic Job Functions:

Nucor IPG- Southeast is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Talent & Community Relations Specialist. This role will be based in our Lewisville, Texas office. The Talent & Community Relations Specialist plays a key role in strengthening the division’s ability to attract, hire, and develop a high-performing workforce. This position is responsible for building sustainable recruiting pipelines while fostering meaningful relationships within the communities we serve. As a representative of Nucor IPG, the Specialist will actively engage with local schools, universities, workforce organizations, and professional networks to identify talent opportunities and enhance our presence in the region.

 

Working in close partnership with local HR and leadership teams, this role ensures alignment on hiring priorities and executes consistent, effective recruiting and outreach strategies across all Southeast locations. Success in this role requires strong ownership, collaboration, and a high level of visibility, along with the flexibility to travel frequently (approximately 67%) to support division facilities, community partnerships, and recruiting events.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with technical schools, colleges, and community organizations to create consistent talent pipelines
  • Represent the company at recruiting events, career fairs, and community outreach opportunities
  • Partner with HR and leadership at each location to support hiring needs as needed, including sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews
  • Promote a consistent and positive image of the company in all candidate and community interactions
  • Work closely with local HR to ensure a strong and consistent candidate experience
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting effectiveness and expand candidate outreach
  • Track recruiting activity and provide regular updates on progress and opportunities
  • Support division and Nucor initiatives related to workforce development and community engagement
  • Organize community outreach programs; coordinating events that promote the company, and employment opportunities
  • Drafting and distributing various communications that promote the company in the local and virtual community; and assisting with social media content plans and virtual groups to enhance the online profile of NIPG.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting, HR, or a related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 67%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or community relations
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or business units
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Proven ability to build partnerships with schools or community organizations
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruiting tools
