Basic Job Functions:

The Detailing Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising the detailing Group Leads, Detailers, and Checkers at the Nucor Insulated Panel Group Office.  Responsibilities also include: grading and estimating detailing/checking time for jobs; scheduling, coordinating, and tracking jobs for the detailing group within the engineering department; addressing job-related problems and determining solutions; developing corrective actions to prevent future issues.  The Detailing Supervisor will provide training and mentoring to team members and will be directly involved in the selection process, interview, hiring and training of new team members.  This position is in Lewisville, Texas and includes working more than 40 hours and traveling out of town as required. 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 2 years drafting and/or checking in a structural steel related field
  • Previous experience with D365, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior leadership experience within the steel fabrication or steel-related industry
  • 2 or 4-year degree in any of the following: CAD, Architectural Technology, or Engineering Technology
  • Experience with building construction
