Nucor Buildings Group is seeking an experienced and motivated candidate for the position of Estimating Supervisor. This full-time role is responsible for leading the estimating team to provide complete, accurate, and timely cost estimates and proposals. The Estimating Supervisor will collaborate with Sales, Quote and Sales Engineers, and cross-functional teams to develop safe, economical, and competitive project solutions while supporting team development, process improvement, and overall operational excellence.

Basic Job Functions:

Leadership & Safety: Serve as an active member of the NBGW Leadership Team and a visible champion of Nucor’s safety culture.

Estimating Operations: Drive, direct, supervise, and lead the overall activities of the Estimating Team to support company sales and profitability goals.

Quality & Accuracy: Partner with the Estimating Team to deliver complete, timely, accurate, and well-qualified estimates and proposals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Quote and Sales Engineers and other functions to develop safe, economical project design solutions, considering metal building pricing, erection concerns, and total in-place cost.

Risk Management: Screen and review quotes with unique scope requirements, evaluating business risk, product application, and the most economical solution.

Customer & Internal Relationships: Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers and internal partners.

Systems & Cost Management: Maintain NBG estimating systems, design methods, cost models, and pricing data to ensure accuracy and consistency.

People Leadership & Development: Provide mentoring, coaching, and grow the Estimating Team, driving performance, developing skills, and shaping future leaders while managing staffing, and training

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited school OR four years of combined experience in engineering detailing, estimating, sales or sales service of metal building systems
  • Ability to travel as required, often with short notice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • P.E./S.E. registration or ability to obtain such within one year of accepting this position
  • Prior leadership experience
