Basic Job Functions:

The Power Systems Engineer primary responsibilities will be to configure, commission, and manage devices. Perform Load flow, Short circuit studies including relay coordination, arc flash analysis, transient analysis, and harmonic analysis. Performing programming microprocessor relays designed for power system protection and control, using microprocessors to analyze data and make decisions.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and
  • two (2) years of experience in a power role with experience in power distribution, transformers, and electrical codes/standards. 
  • Experience must include: Utilizing AutoCAD to create detailed drawings, schematics, and blueprints for electrical systems and other equipment.
