Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Monitor, clean, and inspect plant production equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Perform regular walkthroughs and visual inspection (look for clogs, jams, etc.) to the process during operation.
- Perform regular visual inspections of all product streams, i.e., waste and metals to minimize losses and maximize product quality.
- Communicate with QA to ensure products are meeting the required quality standards.
- Adjust equipment as needed to meet requirements.
- Report any issues with equipment and/or process to supervisor as soon as they are found.
- Operate mobile equipment including forklift and skid loader.
- Assist other Teammates as needed.
- Keep area and walkways clean and organized, free of debris and obstacles.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
- Minimum (1 year) working around manufacturing equipment environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely at all times and with a safe sense of urgency.
- Ability to operate equipment under varying work conditions.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to work flexible hours to include overtime and weekends as needed.
- Schedule is Mon-Fri 6:00am- 5:00pm. Schedule could include Overtime, and potential for Saturday hours, based on business needs.
