Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

      Primary responsibilities are that of a Mechanic II, and will serve as the backup equipment operator (stationary and mobile)

• Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Wear proper PPE, as required.
• Clean and maintain production equipment and machinery.
• Ensure equipment has been properly and adequately lubricated.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment and machinery.
• Use of hand tools, cutting torch, and perform stick welding.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklift, skid steer, mobile shear, and material handler.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
• Mechanical knowledge and skillset
• Basic welding experience 
• Minimum (1 year) working around manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely at all times and with a safe sense of urgency.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment in varying work conditions.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Schedule is: Mon-Fri 6:00am-4:30pm and Sat 6am-12pm, with the potential for overtime hours based on business needs.
