Basic Job Functions:
The role of a Shift Mechanic is to ensure the highest reliability of our equipment at the most effective cost. Working as a team to develop and refine our processes, practices, and equipment to continue to ensure Nucor’s long-term success. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-to-4-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Welding certified with fabrication experience.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge.
- Electrical/PLC knowledge (i.e. 0-500v qualified).
- CMMS knowledge.
- Maintenance experience.
- Operational experience (mill equipment as well as mobile equipment).
