Basic Job Functions:
Process optimization: Analyze the various parameters involved in the rolling process, such as temperature, speed, tension, and lubrication, and identify areas for improvement. Fine-tune parameters, increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Quality control: Monitor and control the rolling parameters (recipes) to ensure that the final products meet the required specifications. Implement quality control measures, such as inspection systems and testing procedures, to identify any deviations or defects in the rolled products. Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Analyze the root causes of issues, propose corrective actions, and work with maintenance and production teams to implement the necessary
changes. Help minimize downtime, improve reliability, and optimize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Process automation and control: Responsible for implementing automation solutions and control systems to streamline the rolling process. Integrate sensors, data acquisition systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor and control critical process parameters in real-time. Safety and environmental considerations: Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to environmental regulations. Evaluate the risks associated with the rolling process and implement safety protocols. Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, minimize waste generation, and implement environmentally friendly practices, contributing to sustainability goals. Continuous improvement: Monitor performance metrics, collect and analyze data, and identify areas where efficiency can be enhanced or costs reduced. Implement lean manufacturing principles and participates in continuous improvement initiative.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or directly related field and five (5) years of experience optimizing steel manufacturing processes. Experience must include: Analysis of various parameters in the steelmaking process to identify areas for improvement utilizing Power Bi, Minitab, IBA Analyzer, AutoCAD technologies; Monitoring and controlling the operation parameters to ensure final specification, implementing quality control measures to identify any deviations or defects in rolled products; Root cause analysis implementing FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis),5Why, SPC (statistical process control) processes to investigate equipment failures and propose corrective action to minimize downtime losses; Leading preventive maintenance initiatives, overseeing repairs, equipment maintenance, and scheduling to ensure optimal operations and longevity, identifying defects or deviations; and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt; ISO audit certifications required.
