Basic Job Functions:
The Environmental Technician responsibilities will include but not be limited to promoting and driving a safe work culture, ensuring compliance with State and Federal environmental regulations, promoting teamwork, and proactive operation & maintenance of all water systems and baghouse. Duties include, but are not limited to, the safe execution of our environmental maintenance programs, and failure trouble shooting, to ensure optimum performance of all equipment as well as to develop and implement projects for continuous improvement.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Three (3) years industrial mechanical experience.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge.
• Electrical/PLC knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in related industry: Water systems, baghouse operations and maintenance.
2. Mechanical/electrical maintenance knowledge (emphasis on pumps, motors, and cooling towers).
3. TCEQ Water and Backflow Prevention License.
4. Mobile Crane experience.
