NSBC - Sheet Mill Lab Technician

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Sheet Mill Lab Technician includes but is not limited to; Perform mechanical property testing on all of Nucor’s sheet products. Unload, collect and prepare tensile and Rockwell test samples by using a hydraulic shear, CNC machine, sheet metal punch press, and a band saw. Collect and prepare chemistry samples and verify information in the computer. Monitor and calibrate measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Prepare and test samples using Magnetic Particle Inspection. Able to work rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime including nights, weekends and holidays. The successful candidate must be willing to work in Hot Mill Lab and/or the Galv II Lab.  Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Eqivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior testing lab experience.
• Experience in an industrial environment
