Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Berkeley is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Caster Shift Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the production team in all aspects of safety and operations. This position will cultivate an atmosphere aligned with Nucor culture that promotes ownership, drives continuous improvement, empowers and motivates teammates, defines expectations, and ensures that expectations are met. The Caster Supervisor is responsible for organizing, prioritizing, assigning job tasks, and coordinating activities with the EAF and LMF areas, as well as other departments at Nucor Berkeley to ensure the success of the division. The Caster Shift Supervisor is expected to have a high level of ownership, humility, and courage, and foster those same characteristics within our team. They will serve as a resource for building talent, fostering personal development, and expanding technical knowledge. The candidate will work collectively with the other melt shop leaders to drive safety, profitability, teammate development, quality, and operational excellence within the Melt Shop. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in a leadership role.
- Five years of experience in an industrial setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of relevant melt shop experience, preferably casting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or other education, training, or certifications that show evidence of desire for growth and personal improvement, particularly in areas that complement job performance.
- The willingness to advance further in his/her career and relocate for future opportunities within Nucor.
