Cold Mill Electrical Technician

Basic Job Functions:

The role of a Cold Mill Electrical Technician includes but is not limited to installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing of electrical and electronic equipment in the Cold Mill. Additionally, this role will require team members to work with automation systems (PLCs & HMIs). As a part of the Berkeley, team the Cold Mill Electrical Technician is required to assist both Production and Mechanical Departments as necessary. Team members must be able to work rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent 
• Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience
• Thorough understanding of basic electrical theory

Preferred Qualifications:

• Motor, motor controls, and drives (AC/DC) understanding
• Power Distribution and Medium Voltage understanding
• PC & Network understanding
• PLC (Siemens) & HMI programming experience (Siemens WinCC)
