Basic Job Functions

Rytec Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This position supports plant operations by maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and equipment performance.

 

Essential Functions

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.

  • Install, modify, and improve manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Complete and document maintenance work orders within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Fabricate and modify equipment components using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams and outside contractors as needed.
  • Maintain facility systems, including lighting, compressed air, plumbing, HVAC, and building infrastructure
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and other equipment as authorized
  • Maintain an organized work area and support 5S and housekeeping initiatives.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs and support after-hours maintenance activities when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) or more years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to safely troubleshoot and work on industrial electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, CMMS software, and Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift up to seventy-five (75) pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and climb stairs or ladders as required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with high noise levels while wearing required PPE

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience programming, troubleshooting, and modifying PLCs and ladder logic.
  • Experience troubleshooting CNC equipment, laser cutting systems, press brakes, overhead cranes, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience coordinating equipment installations, maintenance, and repairs with outside contractors.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and scissor lifts.
  • Valid driver's license with willingness to travel to the Jackson, WI facility twice per month as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Programming or automation experience is a plus.
