Basic Job Functions:
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for operation of the NC PEM machine.
- Set-up and operate the NC PEM machine (single or multi feed) based on the type of fasteners required for the product.
- Upload and execute programs as required to make product.
- Create new programs.
- Read Blue prints to ensure quality is meeting customer expectations.
- Support production including projects directed by supervision.
- Achieve and exemplary level of quality performance with the goal of zero defects.
- Validate parts meet customer expectations, 1st piece and in process verification.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with pallet jacks and forklift for material handling.
- Can stand continuous for scheduled work shift.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to squat, kneel and stand frequently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Meet productivity expectations for product run, demonstrating excellent hand/eye coordination.
- Operate in a safe manner
- Demonstrate reliability through outstanding punctuality and attendance
- Use of hand-held tools, including Riv-nut gun, grinders, etc.
- Work independently or in a team work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Welding experience not necessary, but would be a positive.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
