Basic Job Functions:
SUMMARY:
This position is the liaison between multiple business functions to control the accuracy of Inventory. This individual will be responsible for working with Supply Chain, Finance and Engineering to ensure accuracy. They will also assist in the analysis of cycle count adjustments to find the root cause of inaccurate inventory and assist in finding remedies to ensure best practice.
- Perform cycle counting using the Rytec cycle counting process to complete random counts of inventory in the warehouse and operations area.
- Operate forklift, hand truck or scissors lift to unload, count and replace material to specific stocking areas.
- Perform analysis of adjustments to determine root cause and work with Inventory Control Manager to find best practice to remedy the problem.
- Serve as a liaison between Purchasing and Accounts Payable to investigate inventory discrepancies and reporting details of errors to functional supervisors.
- Implement new organizational methods for the warehouse and operations area. Utilizing existing technology to maintain organization and investigate new technology when needed.
- Receive components from Germany both physically and in SAP.
- Performing labeling, separation, and determination of STO for shared components.
- Work with Engineering and Material Management to ensure proper disposition of obsolete material and coordinate new material storage.
- Work with Operations to record scrap not captured by SAP and investigate material shortages.
- Assist with year-end physical inventory process for Finance and Operations.
- Training operations on the proper use of scanners and assist with error correction.
- Perform analysis of slow or non-moving inventory. Working with Material Management and Purchasing to determine disposition and follow through to final resolution.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a must to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
- Experience with pallet jacks, forklift, scanners, scales and scissors lift for material handling and cycle counting purposes.
- An above average knowledge of SAP as it relates to inventory control, to include functional areas of Purchasing, Material Management, Operations, and the transactions between each.
- Intermediate Excel knowledge in order to assist with reporting and maintaining important information not stored in SAP.
- Experience with scanner software, mobil printer and label software.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and/or other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- This position is based out of our Hartford facility however it will require up to 10% travel to our Jackson facility to assist with coverage when needed.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
- Squatting, kneeling and standing frequently.
- Climbing stairs and/or ladders frequently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
