Basic Job Functions:
SUMMARY:
The Fiberglass Fabricator is responsible cutting, grinding and drilling fiberglass components for door products; using a variety of hand, power and air tools. To accomplish this, Fabricators will review the daily requirements and work instructions, via the i-Pad.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cut, grind and drill fiberglass components for door products; using a variety of hand, power and air tools including chop saws, grinders, and drill press.
- Read and follows blueprints, work orders, and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of the manufactured parts.
- Keep area clean and organized.
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions and blueprints
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize work load and to manage more than one task at a time
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to squat, kneel and stand frequently.
- Must be able to read and use standard tape measure as well as other measuring tools
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
