Basic Job Functions:
This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely for all employees, while maintaining confidentiality. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations. As a key member of the payroll team, you will collaborate with HR, Finance, and department leaders to support employee compensation processes, resolve payroll related inquiries and drive continuous improvement in payroll operations.
Some of the job duties would include the follow:
- Collect and review timekeeping information
- Prepare, reconcile and file quarterly/annual federal and state tax returns
- Respond to employment verification requests in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist teammates with payroll related questions and concerns
- Assist with administration of various company sponsored programs/projects (service awards, scholarships, educational reimbursement, etc.)
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1+ years of payroll processing experience
- Due to the sensitivity and confidentiality required of the position, candidates must not have family currenting working for Nucor Tubular Products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- Payroll tax and financial reporting experience
- SAP payroll, Success Factors, and other HR related systems experience
- Degree in business or related discipline
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
