Environmental Manager

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Gallatin is seeking a leader for the position of Environmental Manager. 

Responsibilities include:

• Divisional leadership in achieving Nucor’s Mission through the safety and development of our team and the successful execution of the Sheet Mill Group strategy. 
• Leading the division’s environmental activities, including environmental systems operations, permitting and compliance, relationships with state and federal environmental agencies, and community outreach.
• The safety, performance, and development of the Environmental team.
• Partnering with all departments to drive continuous improvement

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

• Three years of leadership experience
• Environmental leadership experience
• Experience with environmental regulations and compliance standards
• Understanding of baghouse and water systems operations and maintenance
• Must have a General Manager recommendation

• Judgment/Decision Making- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
• Administration and Management- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, recruiting, and coordination of people and resources.

Preferences:

• Four-year degree or equivalent
• Three years of environmental leadership experience
• Experience with regulatory compliance and environmental permitting; local, state, and federal Government relations and stakeholder management
• Operations and Maintenance experience
