Purpose
This is a non-remote, in office position.
Assists the Accounting/Administration Department performing daily and monthly accounting functions and responsibilities. This would include visits to branch sites (for physical inventories, etc.) and research and analysis of accounts.
Basic Job Functions:
- Works with Accounts Payable, Contracts Department and the Branches in reviewing/approving the release of payment on placing vendor invoices. Includes soliciting missing documentation to ensure compliance with general contractor requirements and internal controls.
- Conducts physical inventories.
- Assists with month-end closings and proposes adjustment entries as needed.
- Handles the Unclaimed Property process in accordance with guidelines put forth by UPCR and our corporate parent. Submits quarterly schedules and serves as point person for audits.
- Updates and maintains Fixed Asset System (FAS).
- Posts daily cash receipt journal entries prepared by Accounting Administrator.
- Handles uploading, submission and acceptance of intercompany transactions within system
- Performs various functions related to the review of, accounting for and ongoing tracking of Leases.
- Performs systemic CapEx management functions and prepares related analyses and reporting.
- Prepares monthly PP&E rollforward schedules.
- Prepares monthly Operational Analysis reporting.
- Prepares monthly bank cash activity spreadsheets and clears paid vendor items in system.
- Prepares offline calculations of special mill-based or PPI-based price adjustments for potential invoicing by the Billing team.
- Performs check-signer duties.
- Completes various surveys and/or disclosure reporting related to production, commodity flow, conflict minerals, etc.
- Maintains the SOX controls ensuring all the controls are in place and up to date.
- Administers SOX control testing.
- Prepares general ledger entries (including recurring and intercompany) and maintains records and files.
- Reconciles accounts and prepares supporting schedules.
- Supports Accounting Manager in completing jobs as needed.
- Answers accounting questions and assists with audits and special projects as needed.
- Performs other accounting-related tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting
- Solid math skills and accuracy with numbers required
Preferences:
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus
Special Demands
- Must be able to adhere to demands of a fiscal calendar close schedule including additional hours during peak periods.
- Some travel required.
- Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented and willing to work closely with other departments to communicate and reason through contract issues and problems.
