Purpose:
Explore and build practical AI-supported solutions that improve reporting, streamline workflows, and increase efficiency across our departments. If you enjoy problem-solving, experimenting with new tools, and turning ideas into action – this is for you.
Basic Job Functions:
- Assist in developing AI-driven tools and processes to support daily operations
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting and workflow efficiency
- Collaborate with teammates to understand current processes and pain points
- Test and implement solutions using AI tools (ChatGPT, automation platforms, etc.)
- Help document and standardize new processes
- Other duties as required by Supervisor
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Current Student any major (but interest in tech, business, or data is a plus)
- Basic experience with tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or similar
Preferences:
- Experience with AI tools, automation, or data analysis
- Exposure to workflow tools (Power Automate, Zapier, etc.)
- Basic coding knowledge (not required!)
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Strong curiosity about AI and emerging technologies
- Ability to work independently and bring new ideas forward
Physical Demands:
- Typical office activities
- Walking, sitting, standing, bending.
- Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment.
- Lifting/handling computers and related equipment (typically not more than 25 pounds).
- Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus.
