Basic Job Functions:
Some of the basic functions include preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, repairs on existing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Additional responsibilities will include installation, fabrication, and startup of new equipment. Teammates must be willing to work a flexible schedule which may include rotating shifts.
The responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician position include, but are not limited to, being a positive part of the team, contributing to the safety culture of the division, managing projects and repairs, as well as overseeing and training teammates in the maintenance department and across the division. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for helping to make sure that the equipment is operationally safe and to minimize down time in production. This position is also responsible for communicating information to other departments and teammates as it relates to maintenance.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years Industrial Maintenance experience or formal education in a maintenance-related field.
- Proven skills in troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems in an industrial setting.
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot various electrical control components.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong hydraulic knowledge and experience.
- Welding and/or fabrication experience.
- Process control design and troubleshooting.
- Program Factory Talk View SE/ME.
- Ability to use RS link to access and troubleshoot.
