Basic Job Functions:
The primary function of the Design Engineer is to design open web steel joists and steel deck and ensure that all products meet the design requirements for projects varying from small gas stations to large athletic stadiums and multimillion square foot warehouses located across the country. The Design Engineer responsibilities also include but are not limited to, the following:
· Design work in accordance with industry standards and Vulcraft manufacturing processes
· Review contract documents such as structural drawings, architectural drawings, and project specifications
· Provide direction and technical support to details, shop orders, and production teammates during project development, design and fabrication
· Communicate with internal and external customers, including other design professionals
· Be responsive to develop and maintain strong relationships with our direct and indirect partners
· Promote Vulcraft products with specifiers or at conventions
This position is a salaried position plus ROA bonus. Occasional travel is required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Minimum Requirements:
• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification
• Be willing to and have the means to travel

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in steel design
Experience in construction industry
PE license and/or SE license
