Basic Job Functions:
California Steel Industries, Inc (CSI), is seeking a leader for the position of Environmental Manager to oversee all environmental responsibilities, permitting, compliance, environmental control systems, and plant water operations. The successful candidate will be a leader capable of ensuring the CSI Team delivers on our commitment to become the world’s safest steel company and build a capable and motivated team that can achieve the operational performance necessary to meet the commercial objectives of the investment. This will require the candidate to establish a clear vision and strategy and empower their team to execute and meet all objectives in safety, quality, costs, productivity, profitability, and environmental. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively throughout the division leadership team to inspire the entire operation.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of environmental leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Four-year degree or equivalent.
Experience with regulatory compliance as well as environmental permitting; local, state and federal. Government relations and stakeholder management.
