Electrical Technician (Air Conditioning)

Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. 

• Receives wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications and instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair,  
• installation, and inspection work to be done. 
• Plans out details of working procedures to determine material needed and/or replacement needs and selects a logical approach to troubleshoot and repair problems. Climbs on buildings towers cranes and mill equipment to inspect, make repairs, service and preventive Maintenance.  
• Must be a highly motivated, self-starting individual, willing to work some weekends, and able to work in an industrial environment.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience within a HVAC setting as a HVAC Tech/ Service. 
• Valid driver's license  
• EPA Universal 608 Certification 
• N.A.T.E  Certification or have had N.A.T.E Certification in the past 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience with troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, chillers, boilers and water cooled/heated air handlers. 
• 5 years of experience in areas such as Fujitsu mini splits, electrical cabinet air conditioners such as Rittal, McLean, and Nvent. 
• Experience with oil coolers, motor VFD, zoning system and Trane 90-ton air conditioning units
