What You'll Do:

· Design complete pre-engineered metal buildings, including structural steel, panels, bracing, and secondary members

· Use proprietary software and industry standards (AISC, ASCE7, IBC, etc.) to analyze frames, cranes, mezzanines, and more

· Collaborate with Detailing and Manufacturing to ensure seamless project execution

· Review and stamp final structural drawings

· Participate in safety initiatives and support continuous improvement in engineering processes

 Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university

· Licensed Structural Engineer (S.E.) in the U.S. (or eligible for Illinois licensure)

· Proficiency with structural codes: AISC 360/341/358, ASCE7, IBC, AISI

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB)

· Familiarity with building design software (e.g., MBS, SAP2000, STAAD, etc.)
