Construction Technician

Basic Job Functions:

• Travel to job sites within AB-IL territory to assist customers/erectors in installing various PEMB components and trouble shoot issues created by improper installation and/or AB-IL errors.
• Traveling 20 plus hours of the work week (driving or by air) is common. Traveling a minimum of (3) days and as many as (5) days per week is expected. Some visits may be scheduled with (1) day notice.
• Jobsite visits will consist of but not limited to talking with customers/site foremen and walking building roofs, both completed and during construction. 
• Effectively communicate with customers/erectors on a regular basis and demonstrate problem-solving skills through a dialogue of field expertise.
• Review file information, shop drawings, and erection drawings to problem solve and offer support to external and internal customers.
• Conduct Weather Tight Roof Inspections and issue warranty documents to customers.
• Compose monthly reports of all jobsite visits.
• Provide customer/site feedback during divisional quality meetings and coordinate/conduct Erector Seminars, CICP schools, and various builder trainings.
• Assist the internal quality team in various claims and back charge investigations/resolutions.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong product knowledge and understanding of PEMB systems.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Etc.
• Ability to climb ladders, ride aerial lifts, and operate on building roofs.
• Minimum of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferences:

• 5 years of PEMB experience with an understanding of steel erection processes.
• Residing in the territory or willingness to relocate to the territory.
