The District Sales Manager (DSM) is the primary customer-facing teammate responsible for executing Nucor's goals within the assigned territory to maximize profitability. DSMs manage a defined sales territory by building strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and consistently communicating value. This is accomplished through collaboration with Sales, Production and Technical personnel and the customer. Additionally, prospecting customers to grow new business within the assigned territory.

 

Basic Job Functions:

Responsibilities of the DSM include but are not limited to:

  • Establishing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Collaborate with customers and builders to interpret construction drawings, product specifications, and clarify project scope requirements.
  • Develop proposals and pricing strategies to close new business
  • Applies market knowledge to anticipate customer needs and industry trends
  • Maintaining alignment with sales goals and metrics
  • Proactively plan and manage own schedule

 

This position requires extensive overnight travel on a weekly basis as well as a willingness to relocate to sales territory to take care of Nucor customers. This position requires a valid driver's license.

 

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the assigned territory.
  • 3-5 years of territory sales experience with the ability to manage customer relationships.
  • 3–5 years of construction‑industry experience (pre-engineered metal buildings /engineered building products or related fields)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or Construction desirable.
  • Knowledge of pre-engineered metal buildings.
  • Consultative / technical sales experience.
