Basic Job Functions:
The responsibilities of the Lab Tech include but are not limited to: safely operating machines (forklift, crane, manipulator, saw, grinder, impact machine, CNC mill, bend test, etching acid bath and tensile machine);gathering, organizing, recording, preparing and testing all samples as specified by the testing plans and other testing procedures in a timely and accurate manner; assisting in maintaining test and measurement equipment within calibration as required by company policies and/or specifications referenced in customer orders; safely performing maintenance tasks related to the area equipment; providing support to other team members in the Met Lab area; maintaining a clean and safe work area; entering data into computer system; participating in all training and developmental programs; and filling in as needed. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork. This is a 12-hour rotating position. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Proven proficiency on the computer, including use of applications and basic programming.
