Basic Job Functions:
The basic functions of Crane Maintenance Technicians include performing preventative maintenance, predictive, and corrective maintenance to overhead cranes. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must possess strong Electrical skills involving troubleshooting, repairing, replacing and programming VFD’s and all other electrical components of overhead cranes.
2. Must possess strong Mechanical skills involving troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing all Mechanical components of overhead cranes.
3. Minimum two-year maintenance or technical degree or 4 years industrial maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Two-year technical degree in electrical maintenance and/or equivalent experience
2. Good understanding of AC and DC motors and drives
3. 4 years previous experience with corrective and preventative maintenance procedures associated with overhead cranes
