Accountant

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Decatur is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate their knowledge in the following areas: 1) General ledger accounting 2) Month end closing and financial report preparation 3) Internal control processes 4) Problem solving and root cause analysis 5) Generally accepted accounting principles 6) Sarbanes-Oxley. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 4 year B.S. Accounting/Finance; will consider other relevant degrees
2. Computer Skills – Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and other Office Products

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Accounting experience in a manufacturing company
2. 2 or more years of steel industry experience
3. Oracle, EIS or GL Connect Experience
4. Willing to relocate for future job opportunities within Nucor
