Basic Job Functions:
Join our dynamic team as a Lab Supervisor and lead our Metallurgical lab’s mission to safely deliver the highest quality products to our customers while pursuing excellence and innovation.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
The primary duties of the Lab Supervisor include but is not limited to the following:
- Lead the Metallurgical lab team and ensure their safety
- Provide accurate and timely test results
- Implement quality assurance protocols and ensure data integrity
- Quality Systems and accreditations ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and others.
- Support process control and continuous improvement
- Foster the growth and development of the lab team
The successful candidate must possess superior communication skills, lead our safety culture, grow and develop our team as well as themselves.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two (2) years or more manufacturing and/or quality control/systems experience including hands-on experience in conducting mechanical and dimensional tests in an industrial setting
- Knowledge & application of ISO, IATF 16949
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current and/or prior experience in quality, operations or manufacturing, steel or automotive industry
- Previous experience leading a team
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply ASME, ASTM, ISO, and other relevant product and testing specifications to ensure compliance in at least 3 previous projects or assignments within a manufacturing or engineering context
