Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Platform Administrator. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise data platforms, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role will work closely with various teams to support various platform needs and to implement best practices for platform management. The administrator will act as point of contact for resolving any platform-related issues or data challenges. They will play a key role in our data governance initiative ensuring that the organization's data is properly governed, secured, and compliant with relevant regulations.
- The position will be required to perform maintenance and remediation of data environments outside of normal work hours when necessary.
- This is a full-time, permanent position with the Nucor Business Technology Team.
- A willingness to travel periodically and domestically is required to satisfy project or training demands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain the data governance platform and ensure it is integrated with other systems in the enterprise (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, data pipelines, business intelligence tools)
• Monitor and maintain data enterprise platforms, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Assist in creating and enforcing data governance policies, including data privacy, security, retention, and access policies.
• Implement and enforce platform management best practices and standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues in a timely manner.
• Document platform configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Coordinate with internal teams to support platform-related needs and requirements.
• Implement and manage user roles, permissions, and data access policies to ensure that only authorized individuals have access to sensitive data. (Role-based Access Control: (RBAC)
• Regularly conduct access reviews and audits to ensure that access levels are appropriate and meet governance requirements.
• Ensure that data quality standards, including data validation, cleansing, and monitoring, are defined and enforced by working with our data stewards.
• Perform ongoing data profiling to identify data quality issues and ensure that data across the enterprise meets the required quality thresholds.
• Ensure that data governance practices align with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and that the platform supports compliance audits.
• Generate and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data governance, such as data quality scores, access compliance, and policy adherence.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered
- 3+ years of experience with PL/SQL development
- 2 + years experience with Azure DevOps and Agile Project Methodology
- 3+ years experience in platform administration or a similar role.
- Supervisor and Manager Recommendation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using platforms such as: INFORMATICA Intelligent Cloud Solutions, Databricks, Control M, Microsoft Fabric, and data replication tools.
- Exposure to data governance and master data management practices
- Certifications in platform administration or related areas.
- Strong knowledge of platform management best practices and standards.
