Oracle EBS Software Engineer

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Business Technology (NBT) builds and runs the software behind Nucor's steel operations — and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) is the ERP backbone of how Nucor runs its business. We're looking for an Oracle EBS Software Engineer to develop, customize, and extend our EBS platform and keep it reliable, performant, and evolving as the business grows.

You'll do hands-on EBS application development across modules — building customizations and extensions with PL/SQL, Oracle Forms & Reports, OA Framework, Oracle Workflow, and BI/XML Publisher; developing concurrent programs, interfaces, and reports; and supporting patching, upgrades, and performance. You'll partner closely with functional/business teams and mill stakeholders to turn real operational needs into reliable solutions on the EBS platform.

We also expect modern engineering habits: use of AI-assisted development workflows and agentic coding tools to accelerate delivery, and a willingness to apply AI/agentic approaches to ERP and integration work as NBT raises how it builds. This is a hands-on build role on a team that owns systems running core operations. This is a full-time, permanent position based at the NBT office in Dallas, TX.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor ­­Business Technology (NBT) will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years building and shipping production software, including hands-on Oracle E-Business Suite development (additional experience considered at the Software Engineer III level)
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL with Oracle database development and performance tuning
• Hands-on EBS technical development: customizations and extensions using Oracle Forms & Reports, OA Framework (OAF), Oracle Workflow, BI/XML Publisher, Application Object Library (AOL), and concurrent programs
• Working knowledge of one or more EBS functional areas (e.g., Financials, Supply Chain/Manufacturing, or HR) and the underlying EBS data model
• Experience building inbound/outbound interfaces and integrating EBS with other enterprise systems via APIs, files, and events
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development workflows and agentic coding tools
• Demonstrated ability to take work from design through delivery, partnering with functional and business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with EBS R12.2, patching, and upgrade cycles
• Integration tooling: Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), or similar
• Experience with ERP modernization or migration (e.g., Oracle Cloud/Fusion or S/4HANA)
• Manufacturing or industrial domain knowledge
• Exposure to a modern language beyond PL/SQL (Python, C#, or TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred; OCI relevant for Oracle workloads)
• Strong fundamentals in Git, CI/CD, testing, and observability
• Experience applying AI-assisted or agentic approaches to ERP/integration development
