Basic Job Functions:

 

Nucor Business Technology is seeking an organized and proactive Office Coordinator to join our team.

The Office Coordinator will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficient operations of our office, ensuring smooth communication, visitor management, and overall office functionality.  The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position is an onsite role located in Irving, TX.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage Phone Lines: Transfer calls as needed, take messages, and answer office-related questions.
  • Manage Incoming and Outgoing Visitors: Ensure visitors sign in, provide badges, assist with office navigation, and collect badges upon departure.
  • Manage Incoming and Outgoing Packages/Mail: Collect and distribute mail and packages to necessary teammates within the office and prepare and create FedEx or USPS labels for shipments for IT.
  • Office Supply and Kitchen Inventory/Ordering: Maintain inventory of office and kitchen supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Office Organization: Organize swag closet, kitchens, front areas of lobbies, and meeting rooms.
  • Proper Postings: Ensure accurate and up-to-date postings on walls including HR posters, safety posters, evacuation templates, and floor plans.
  • Building Management and Contractors: Liaise with building management and contractors for miscellaneous construction purposes.
  • Manage Office Lunches: Order, set up, and clean up office lunches.
  • Wellness Wednesdays: Organize activities and initiatives for Wellness Wednesdays.
  • Coordinate Monthly Birthday Parties: Arrange for cakes and celebrations for in-office birthdays.
  • Support Office Events: Assist in setting up office events organized by the training and communication team.
  • Holiday Decorations: Coordinate decorations for various holidays throughout the year.
  • Assist with Graphics/Wall Requests: Provide support with graphics and wall requests as needed.
  • Coordinate Safety Initiatives: Assist with the coordination of safety initiatives such as fire drills, tornado drills, etc.
  • Manage Nucor Visitors: Assist with meeting room set up and coordination, lunches, breakfasts, snacks, etc. for Nucor visitors.
  • Maintain/Shred/Organize Files

 

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in Office Administration are a plus.
  • Experience in an administrative role or similar position.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software (e.g., MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
