Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking a highly qualified DevOps Engineer to join the Solution Delivery Team. The DevOps Engineer will serve as a cross-functional enabler, responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of the software delivery lifecycle. The engineer will foster collaboration, automate processes, and maintain systems that align with business goals and operational excellence.
Responsibilites include but not limited to:
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing software code releases across development, staging, and production environments
- Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote shared responsibility and continuous improvement.
- Translate business goals into technical delivery strategies and risk mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues.
- Maintain documentation for DevOps processes and infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of experience with database schema change management tools such as Liquibase or Redgate.
- Strong proficiency in Agile principles and frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban, with hands-on experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps for three years or more.
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, including experience with FlexDeploy and GitHub for automated build and deployment.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), and Database Performance Analyzer (DPA).
- Solid understanding of security and compliance frameworks relevant to software development and operations.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in cloud platforms or DevOps practices.
- Experience in regulated industries.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
