Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Purpose:
Proactively provide project-related and branch-level support to ensure efficient and accurate management of project-related documentation and contractual obligations throughout the lifecycle of a project and to assist with other branch administration functions as needed.
Basic Job Functions
• Assemble and disseminate project-specific documents, including bid documents, plans, specifications, OCIP/CCIP manuals, payment/performance bonds, project owner information, upstream party identities, and contracts.
• Enter new projects into company project management database, ensuring project budget accuracy and verifying relevant project data.
• Create and maintain an electronic filing system for all project-related documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Assist Project Management team with the preparation, tracking, and management of project-related change orders. Enter, track, and manage change orders.
• Review customer-issued documents for project scope and pricing accuracy, redlining any changes to the documents using Bluebeam and Microsoft Word.
• Facilitate, assist with, and monitor the review of letters of intent, contracts, NDAs, change orders, and other project-related documents by the Contracts/Legal Department.
• Order certificates of insurance.
• Collaborate with sales, project management, customer, billing, accounting, and Contracts/Legal Department on project-related issues and concerns.
• Provide support to project management staff, assisting with contract-related matters, subcontractors, outstanding receivables, and claims.
• Assist Billing Department with the preparation of invoices and pay applications.
• Review projects on at least a monthly basis and provide a status update to the project team regarding shipments, job progress, invoicing, pricing adjustments, change order management, and job completion.
• Prepare and submit project-related LEED and AIS documentation.
• Manage subcontractor contracting and invoices.
• Assist as needed branch teammates with the preparation of sales orders.
• At the direction of the branch manager, collaborate with Accounts Payable department and Contracts/Legal Department on the vetting and management of all vendors.
• Assist as needed with routine inventory audits.
• Work collaboratively with other regional locations as well as the central administrative office in Massachusetts.
• At the direction of the branch manager, process and code vendor invoices.
• Develop and foster collaborative partnerships with new and existing customers.
• Assist with other projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Proficient in the use of computers, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• One year of experience reviewing or assisting with construction project-related documents such as bids, purchase orders, subcontracts, letters of intent, change orders, etc..
Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of construction project lifecycle and construction industry in general.
• Understanding of basic contractual risk transfer concepts in the construction industry.
• Associate’s degree in business, construction management, or similar discipline.
• Demonstration of solid reading, writing, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with customers, colleagues, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Must be highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
