Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Business Systems Data and Reporting Lead for our Nucor NextGen project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and developing reporting solutions for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) ERP and distributed steel manufacturing MES systems. The successful candidate will be able to lead multi-disciplined and dispersed matrix-organized teams responsible for creating technical solutions that provide business operations information & visibility across the integrated ERP and MES applications. The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with business and technical leaders across NBT and Nucor’s steel making divisions. They will possess a good understanding of BI, data, and technology trends that are driving new capabilities that enable easier access to information across integrated systems including Cloud data platforms and AI-enabled features.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a Central Point of Contact: Act as a go-to resource for all reporting-related inquiries on the NextGen project and facilitate collaboration between different teams.
  • Work Collaboratively with Stakeholders: Collaborate with business leaders, project managers, and technical architects to define and prioritize reporting initiatives.
  • Lead Reporting Solution Team: Provide strong functional understanding with technical expertise to lead development teams through the translation of business requirements into technical reporting and data visibility solutions.
  • Develop Reporting Technical Solutions: Deliver NextGen reporting solutions that provide data and information from the NextGen Oracle EBS ERP and Steel Manufacturing MES systems.
  • Innovate Reporting Mechanisms: Create new ways to deliver information using multiple reporting tools and platforms like Microsoft Fabric (PowerBI and other solutions), Databricks, Oracle APEX, and AI-enabled solutions like Copilot.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Establish clear communication channels and collaboration platforms for all reporting and information needs across the NextGen projects and other ERP projects across the company.
  • Drive Reporting Literacy and Education: Develop and implement programs to educate teammates on reporting tools, deployed solutions, and their potential benefits.
  • Manage and Mentor Team Members: Ensure team members have the necessary training, resources, and support to excel in their roles.

 

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in an IT role, with a focus on ERP and MES reporting.
  • 3-year track record of leading successful reporting projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ERP and MES data and systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience leading remote teams, including offshore development teams.
  • Experience leading IT software, consulting, and contractor partners.
  • Highly proficient and proven communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in the steel manufacturing industry and MES data and technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS ERP software and reporting solutions.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps Agile program management platform.
  • Expanded knowledge of Industry 4.0 digital technologies and trends.
  • Expanded knowledge of Generative AI architectures and platforms.
  • Expanded knowledge of cloud-native development and PaaS platforms (Azure, Oracle OCI).
  • Expanded knowledge of UX-Driven design and development.
