Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking a Bar Digital Solutions Manager to lead Bar-focused digital work for Nucor's Bar and Engineered Bar Mill Group.
This portfolio currently includes digital ordering and mill scheduling solutions and is expected to grow as new priorities are added. The Manager will lead the team day to day, own the roadmap and delivery plan across initiatives, and ensure solutions are adopted and delivering value.
The ideal candidate is a strong product and program manager with formal people leadership experience and a record of earning the trust of business leaders. A technology background is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone who understands how the business runs, can turn priorities into clear plans, and can lead a team to deliver solutions that people actually use.
This is a full-time position based in Dallas, TX or Charlotte, NC, with other Nucor locations considered. Moderate travel to Bar and Engineered Bar Mill Group divisions will be required.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (NBT will not sponsor employment visas now or in the future).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead, coach, and develop the team, including team leads, solution engineers, and analysts, by setting expectations, providing feedback, and managing performance.
• Provide day-to-day leadership across the portfolio, keeping priorities, people, and delivery aligned.
• Own the roadmap and backlog priorities across initiatives, balancing business value, team capacity, and dependencies.
• Plan and manage delivery across multiple initiatives, including scope, schedule, resources, and risks.
• Build trusted relationships with division leadership, sales, customer service, operations, and scheduling teams.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements, success measures, and priorities.
• Drive adoption through training, change management, feedback, and value measurement.
• Coordinate work with delivery partners and system integrators.
• Raise risks and issues early and provide regular leadership updates.
• Partner with enterprise architecture, security, and platform teams to ensure alignment with NBT standards.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and budget planning as the team grows.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in product, program or project management, commercial or business operations, or technology solutions delivery, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience leading multiple cross-functional initiatives at the same time, from planning through delivery and adoption.
- Proven ability to build trust with division and business leaders and turn their needs into clear priorities and plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in steel, manufacturing, industrial, or B2B distribution environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle EBS or similar ERP platforms, especially order management, pricing, and invoicing.
- Experience with B2B e-commerce or digital ordering solutions.
- Experience with production planning or scheduling processes and systems.
- Working knowledge of Azure cloud services and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience using AI tools to improve business processes or team productivity.
- Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Experience working with consultants, delivery partners, or system integrators.
