Mobile Equipment Mechanic

Basic Job Functions:

The Mobile Equipment Mechanic position is responsible for Emergency Service Calls, as well as Preventive Maintenance/Repair Work on Heavy Mobile Equipment which Includes Fork trucks, Service Trucks, Semi-Tractor Trailers, Material Handling Cranes, Loaders, and Locomotive Engines.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Working Knowledge of Heavy Equipment Electronic Diagnostics Systems
2. Working Knowledge of Heavy Equipment Hydraulic Systems and Trouble Shooting
3. Working Knowledge of Gasoline and Diesel Engines in Heavy Equipment Applications

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 2 year Associates Degree or Vocational Tech Certificate in Heavy Mobile Equipment Maintenance
2. Preventive/Predictive Training
3. 3 years Field Service with Heavy Equipment Dealership
4. Strong Desire for Self Improvement
