Coatings Complex Process Engineer

Basic Job Functions:

The Process Engineer is primarily responsible for continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes. Safety is a focus of all teammates and responsibilities will include upholding safety standards, practice good housekeeping, and leading/participating on teams for improvement and problem solving. They will help lead projects that improve efficiency, reduce waste, improve cost, minimize variation and improve control. The Process Engineer will assist operations and maintenance in equipment modifications, planning of upgrades and outages, vendor development, and training teammates. They need to be skilled in the use of production and control technologies, problem solving methods, process control and data and statistical. 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. BS degree in an Engineering discipline or School of Technology or has 4 years of experience in a suitable role within metals manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Steel mill experience
2. Proven understanding of data aquisition
3. Proven understanding of process control and automation
4. Proven understanding of process combustion systems and controls, and instrumentation
