Basic Job Functions:
The responsibilities of the Environmental Operator include but are not limited to the operation and maintenance of water treatment and air/monitoring control systems as well as additional duties related to plant maintenance, repair, sampling, inspection, permit compliance, environmental management and the operation of equipment within State and Federally mandated parameters. The Environmental Operator will work in a variety of indoor and outdoor working/weather conditions. This is a rotating shift position and will report directly to the Environmental Supervisor. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of hands-on work experience in industrial operations, mechanical or electrical maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with process plant operations.

Water or Wastewater Treatment experience/certification.

Experience with operation and repair/maintenance of pumps and air/monitoring control systems.
