Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Plate Group is seeking qualified applications for the posting of Material Specialist. Principal duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Identify what is needed from Plate Group Divisions to be supplier approved.
- Own coordination between divisions and suppliers to help with smooth communication and execution.
- Bridge commercial, quality, and operations gaps around supplier requirements.
- Specialize in Armor initially but could expand to other plate group supplier approvals such as wind and API.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- 3+ years in supplier quality
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.

- Defense supplier qualification experience
- Wind & API qualification experience
