Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Hertford County is offering a Human Resources Internship in Cofield, NC. As an HR Intern you will gain hands-on experience in human resources operations, talent management, and compliance. This internship offers an opportunity to work alongside industry professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop skills that will prepare you for a Successful career in HR. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Key Reponsibilities:
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team
- Support recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws
- Assist with talent analytics, market research, and employer branding initiatives
- Conduct HR-related research and prepare reports and presentations as needed
- Participate in community outreach and career events
- In coordination with the HR team, serve as an HR point of contact for fellow interns
- Help facilitate new hire orientation and support internal HR compliance audits
- Assist with division training programs and related initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Rising senior (or higher) currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and pursuing a career in Human Resources
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Prior work or volunteer experience in an office environment providing customer or community service
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- No relatives currently employed at Nucor Steel Hertford County
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI tools and Canva
- Familiarity with social media platforms
