Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Hertford County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Credit Coordinator. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to build relationships and work across multiple teams, and facilitate the acceptance and processing of customer claims for both quality and accounts receivable. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing customer overpayments and short pays, requiring strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Conduct customer credit reviews and assist in the collection of past due payments.
- Analyze financial ratios such as working capital and debt-to-income ratios for credit analysis.
- Manage aging receivables, including forecasting cash flow based on trends.
- Generate quality reports and create synopses for managerial review at month-end.
- Prepare and manage weekly and monthly reports, and participate in month-end closing processes, which may require working outside of normal business hours and holidays.
- Generate aging reports for external sales managers, establish and communicate credit limits, and make credit decisions for releases.
- Negotiate credit terms and conditions with customers.
- Assist in preparing financial models and reports to support business decisions.
- Maintain tactful and professional communication to preserve positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Potential for overnight travel as needed.
- Uphold and lead safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Related Field or Equivalent Sales/Credit/Collections Experience
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Effective business communication skills
- Understanding of financial ratios and their application in credit analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manufacturing process related credit and claims administration
- Experience in credit operations and understanding credit risks
- Accounting background
